Education and Research Center for Frontier Agricultural Science, Faculty of Agriculture
Information on the Education and Research Center for Frontier Agricultural Science in the Faculty of Agriculture.
Established in June 2008, the Education and Research Center for Frontier Agricultural Science primarily promotes frontier agricultural science research and development and applies frontier agricultural science in undergraduate and graduate education at the university.
With the main members of its faculty from the Faculty of Agriculture and Graduate School of Agriculture-who also serve as supervisors and vice supervisors in charge of project research at the facility-the Education and Research Center for Frontier Agricultural Science engages in pioneering large-scale research projects. It also holds symposiums and other events to transmit the results of these projects, engaging in a wide variety of activities to use these results not only in education and further research but also to contribute to improving society.
The center is working on a green biomass research project as well as a project to create a comprehensive management system for wild animals with special education and research funds from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.

Improving Local Energy Self-Sufficiency Rates
Information on research results investigation meeting (open to TUAT students, faculty and staff) provided below.
Open to: TUAT faculty and staff
Current TUAT students
Date and time: Thursday, March 8, 2012, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Location: Lecture Room 2-11, Building 2, Fuchu Campus, Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology
Inquiries: Tadashi Hirasawa, Institute of Agriculture, Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (ext. 5671)
Seishu Tojo, Institute of Agriculture, Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (ext. 5764)
Project objective:
Develop new technologies for recycling materials, producing highly efficient green biomass, and creating biomass energy that do not compete with foodstuffs, and create a fundamental system for the local production and consumption of biomass energy.
Based on this system, create a general-purpose model for environmentally friendly self-sufficient community energy systems using biomass adaptable to various areas, and aim to resolve energy and environmental problems without competing with foodstuffs.
